The objective of the site is to sell the CD-ROM and Licenses to use it but it also shows a clear synopsis of the resource.
The CD-ROM is structured in the following way:
The site is a promotion and order form for a CD-ROM of an electronic copy of the Bayeux Tapestry. However it shows some detail of the work and some ideas that a teacher can follow up.
• hyperlinked scholarly commentary on each of the 173 panels, detailing all major and minor interpretative issues in the Tapestry; an outline to facilitate non-linear navigation of sections of the Tapestry; the ability to toggle between English and Latin in the inscriptions
• more general descriptions of the forty scenes of the
Tapestry, intended as a beginner's guide to the "plot" of the work
• a full glossary of People, Places, Details and Events
depicted or referenced in the Tapestry, with linked index
• an animated and clickable map of English and
Norman geography of the Tapestry, and a map of the battlefield
• 360 degree video panoramas of the battlefield
• a genealogy of Kings William and Harold
• a library featuring translations of seventeen textual
analogues to the events depicted in the Tapestry, with editorial notes to link the texts to the Tapestry
• a museum containing thirty-seven visual analogues
(medieval artifacts, manuscript illuminations, archaeological remains, etc.) to aspects of the Tapestry
• a search engine
• a full bibliography
• a full introduction, detailing the history, manufacture,
purpose and restoration of the Tapestry
• copies of facsimiles of the Tapestry
• a slideshow feature, allowing users to pre-arrange the
order in which panels of the Tapestry may be displayed

Description of how the website can be used with the students::
This website is essentially aimed at teachers and would only be of interest to a student if they wanted to buy an individual license for the CD-ROM. However, the CD-ROM itself contains an excellent range of materials that would be accessible to students undertaking individual or group research.
Comments::
A site that promotes an essential resource for schools which would allow good links to be made between Art and History.
