ACTIVITIES REPORT
Partners' Institution:
Zinev Art Technologies Ltd.
Project's period (from/to):
January 2008 - June 2008
WPs concerned:
WP 2 - Research on National Artists and Artworks

Objectives of activities carried out:
The first objective of this work package is to develop the necessary common forms for presenting the results of the artists/artworks selection and the art analysis through the centuries and countries involved.
Another objective is the initiation and successful implementation of the representative artists/artworks selection and the gathering and analysing of educational information on these artists/artworks.

Time period:
January - June 2008

Description of activities carried out:
WP: "Research on national artists and artworks"
The most representative artists/artworks at national Bulgarian level for the last 10 centuries have been identified. There is at least one artist/artwork per century. The list of representative artists/artworks has been developed /with supporting paragraph as to why a certain artist/artwork has been selected/ and sent to Pixel.

Research on the most representative national artists/artworks of the last 10 centuries in Bulgaria has been finalized. The research is based on the common form developed under the project and aims at providing a deep analysis of each selected art object or artist, going into details with regard to national and transnational influences, background, contextualization and profound artistic analysis. Images and other visualization or audio materials are provided in order for the teaching material to be a combination of reading, visual and other elements, which can efficiently enhance the efectiveness of learning.

Outcomes:
Selected representative artists/artworks for the last 10 centuries in Bulgaria.
Developed a list with these selected artists/artworks and given explanations as to why they are a part of the selection - what makes them unique.
Completed work on the research of each separate selected artist/artwork.
10 Forms for the collection of sources produced by the partner (one for each century for Bulgaria).

Evaluation of the work undertaken:
The selection of artists/artworks has been proposed, substantiated and approved by all Bulgarian schools and is considered representative. There are no blanks throughout the centuries regardless of the strong negative influence of the Ottoman empire over Bulgarian art during 500 years. This proves on the one side the deep artistic roots of Bulgarian culture and on the other side the good analytical and research skills of the teachers involved in the project on behalf of Bulgarian schools.
