Description of contents:
In the Medieval German chronicles the castle in Rybnica was called Laudis. Palatium, or Lausepelz, translated from the dialect of Luzyce- Lausche Polske, what signified a notion of the bald mountain. However, not too much is known about the circumstances of the castle's founding and its genesis. Among the scientists, an opinion is dominating that the process of building that protective building was initiated by the Emperor Charles IV of Luxembourg himself in the 60s of XIV century. He is supposed to have visited the place in 1365. The castle was then a property or was rented by Nicola von Reybnicz, a member of the knight family von Reibnitz governing the village from 1288.
