WPs concerned:
WP 4 - Creation of the educational package

Objectives of activities carried out:
Finding a structure for WP4. Discussing structure of this work-package.

In September there was a final decision about the contents of the workpackage, which will be followed for the rest of the project-time: The work-title is "Special Symbols in German Arts". A draft was composed and sent to the project-coordinator and project-partners for further discussion.
In October there were the first steps to fill in detailed contents regarding the various chapters an paragraphs.

Time period:
May 2008 - October 2008

Description of activities carried out:
In the third national meeting with the teachers the topic "WP4" was discussed. The teachers wish was to change the rigid structure of WP4 in order to adjust WP4 to the practise of german art-education. Not only theory should be a topic, but also transformation of theoretical issues into practical work that can be immediatedly applied to instruction.
In the fourth national meeting the final structure and content of the WP4 was set up (see above).
In the fifth meeting at the end of October there will be further discussion of how to relate the different modules of the workpackage (foremost module 1 and module 2) and how to get other related information and content into the already defined structural elements. The aim is to prepare a database which does not only show the content and the topics of the WP2 but also a widespread insight in German fine Arts in the relevant centuries. So maybe there will be still other artworks or/and other artist mentioned. On the other side it might be usefiul not to concentrate upon all those already described srtists/artworks of the WP2.

Outcomes:
The German proposal for WP4 was submitted to PIXEL and discussed and evaluated within the meeting of the project partners in Carlisle.
The German draft of WP4 was forwarded in time.
The German proposal and draft will be worked out quite now in the following six weeks. Work is running.

Evaluation of the work undertaken:
In September 2008 a first draft of the "national" WP4 was submitted in order to generate a common basis for all following procedures of the second project-year (national and international (online) conferences, transnational analysis aso).
At the end of October discussion about the final shape of WP4 still goes on.
